I think every writer think their ideas are (more or less) good. My ideas are nor revolutionary, it's absolute classic soap in all its glory. But all those ideas are prepared in advance, will a real progression. Twists are not coming from nowhere for twisting sakes. Most important, it's written like I (hope to be) a "I f... didn't see that coming. But it makes sense". And I am not sure it is something NuDynasty is looking for.

I read some reviews about Yellowstone, and they thought the sow was average/disappointing. Many reviews pointed that it was more like a new Dallas than anything else (like it was actually a bad thing). Many critics didn't enjoy it. So I immediately jumped in
I had a little hard time with episode 1... But after episode 3, I was hooked. It has everything : a plot that connect a dysfunctional family, manipulation, lies, betrayal, broken characters, bitches, moral compass, deaths, and some great punchlines. I enjoyed it very, very much. And I can't wait for season 2.EDIT : the ratings were consistent during all its season, which is a good sign too :

I've shifted to watching Dynasty-related stuff on youtube, with...ahem, spotty results. The most recent, decent find was an interview show featuring Liz Gillies and Maddison Brown as guests. I mean, how can you lose with a title like "Liz Gillies and Maddison Brown roast each other while chatting about Dynasty"?
It was very much like an episode of NuDynasty: tons of snappy insults, lots of talking over one another, and the folks running things seemingly have no idea what the show is about (or should be). There's even a cute dog!

Before they hired Maddison Brown, they had a stand-in play Kirby for the season one finale, and her one line ("Hello, daddy!") was done by....Liz Gillies.
Maddison Brown says that Liz G often works 17-hour days, five days per week when they're filming the series (nine months per year).

Then it is FINAL: they work without a script, it´s all bitchy improv. There are no real writers in this show and that transpires...or rather stinks!

Yes, but there was also a third and fourth thing i didn't know: that Maddison also auditioned for Fallon and after NS left was considered as replacementAlexis! I wonder how any of that would have played out. That dog is so hilarious!

Anything over fifteen minutes usually scares me off, but there was nothing to watch on TV. The stream-of-consciousness way the 'interview' was conducted made it impossible to skip ahead, too.
I thought it was funny how everybody involved just laughed off the fact that the host(s) had no idea what the show was about and didn't even try to lie their way through the discussion. David Letterman used to be the master of that sort of "Oh, yeah--I saw your movie [/eye roll]" indifference during interviews where the big-name star shows up to plug their movie/book/TV show.

Eh, I kind of assumed they used a stand-in for the season one finale - no reason to pay for an actress whose legs (and presumably voice) is the only thing that'll appear for three seconds. Funny that Gillies did the voice-over for that too. But on the other hand, it makes sense as she's also a voice actress and good with impersonations (as we saw with Fallexis).

And they likely did not have to pay Liz G at all to do the line. If the stand-in got to say the line, the stand-in's payday would have increased significantly.

Yup! They probably paid extra to one of the regular stand-ins (maybe Liz Gillies's?) to appear as the mostly unseen Kirby.

I think they were being facetious when they said Maddison was considered as a replacement for Alexis. I do think they genuinely intended Kirby's reveal as a nod to Alexis' arrival on the original series (which I will, for the sake of clarity, refer to as "Mile High Dynasty" from now on - and I encourage other to follow suit).
Liz Gillies made that interview - along with the dog. The interviewer was atrocious; I don't expect every interviewer to be like Jon Stewart (who read almost every book promoted on "The Daily Show" during his tenure) but this guy was completely unprepared. I ended up with a lot of Liz Gillies videos in my Youtube recommendations (no, I didn't watch them all); from what I did watch there appears to be genuine camaraderie and affection among the "Dynasty" cast-members. I recommend their re-enactments of scenes from "A Star is Born".

Maybe they had a cast meeting where Sallie Patrick made them draw straws to see who would play Alexis 2.5. By pure luck we got the best candidate. We could just as easily have had Alan Dale under all that latex and a blond wig.

Just a sweet transvestite from transsexual Transsylvaniaaaa-haha. They should really do a Rocky-Horror-Picture-Show-themed episode in season 3. I mean, it really doesn't matter now anymore.
