It's amazing. Such an "old" product getting the clarity and shine it deserved. I think the fact that I don't really like most TV of the late 80s has a lot to do with the poor picture quality at that time. It was bad for each series individually but it was even more problematic for series about wealth like Dallas or Falcon Crest.
With this unexpected development I can't help but dreaming.
A few years ago they digitally recreated young Carrie Fisher as Princess Leila once again. Each technique will become less expensive and more common over the years. I am just musing about the possibilities in some years or decades. Maybe like editing youtube videos producers or fans will be able to redo scenes/episodes/seasons in their own way.
I'm sure there is a market out there for a "good" Godfather 3 (this time with Robert Duvall) for example. Reading on this forum some really great ideas over the years what could have been done, makes me thinking what could be in store for us.
Sounds implausible and far-fetched sure, but so did the HD treatment a few years ago to me.
