Patrick Duffy about Pam and Bobby from old interviews

I felt the same. The final season especially because of the ugly story with Michelle. That wasn't Cliff any longer and in nuDallas he was Emperor Palpatine, with no explanation why he turned to the dark side. As a lawyer with political ambitions he could've still been an enemy to the Ewings. The TV movies presented a recognizable character who was open to forgiveness and retiring and then Cidre destroyed him.

Or at least give him adult-onset neurofibromatosis.

I really don't see the drama in the reports that led to this thread.
Agreed. A quick visit to YouTube and watching some of those outtakes suggests everyone was enjoying their time on the set. Any reporting which eludes to cast members not seeing eye to eye is just free publicity. I'm sure the producers and networks didn't mind that one bit.

Brian Kinney... I've watched Queer as folk during the pandemic, I still prefer the British original...
Brian and Justin were cute(bad actors) in the 3 seasons, but after it was awful...
I'm shocked reading such misguided criticism. Both versions and seasons were perfect entertainment in their times for gays and lesbians, young and old. Gale Harold's outstanding performance deserved an Emmy. Queer as Folk (US) was the Knots Landing of queer TV with the Babylon as the Seaview Circle.

I think I was very unusual to have Sue Ellen as my favourite from such a very young age!
J.R. constantly showed Sue Ellen boundaries, at the pool or in the living-room he scolded her a few times in front of the family. I can imagine it's something a child naturally considers as mistreatment and develops strong sympathy for the victim who step for step improves her path.

Oooh yes, it was far more than that though. I loved Sue Ellen's cheekiness, bitchiness. How she tried to stand up to JR. The way she would smirk to herself if she or anyone else got one over on him. Her behaviour at times could be quite naughty and humorous. That look she gave.
And yes, she was treated badly by him so it was easy to root for her.

For me she was always so exciting to watch to see what she would get up to next.

I've always admired what Linda did with that role and how diverse she could be.........so compelling.
I could write pages and pages about her!

Patrick has said in video interviews about Victoria "stealing his light" and how they were competitive at the beginning. However, I think it's Patrick's ego and coming from TMFA where he was the star, that made it a competition in his mind only. Let's face it, Victoria stood on the tape "x" on the set floors where she was supposed to stand so if she was in Patrick's light, that's the way the director wanted it.

Then Patrick whined to Lenny about a bigger, meatier role and he got it. Same thing with TNT's version. Patrick whines and he gets a bigger role at the expense of his co-stars. If that were Victoria, she'd be labeled a diva or a b!tch.

I have no doubt that Victoria can maybe piss some people off sometime but I'm not certain , she does it deliberately.

I remember listening to @Garry 's most recent Victoria interview and as soon as she answered, she immediately put the interviewer on hold so she could get a cup of tea. I initially thought, "how rude" but then she graciously settled in for a lengthy interview and seemed witty, spoke fondly of her cast mates and made it very clear she still appreciated her role, what it gave her and she cares about her fans.

Patrick stating that Pam's goodness was secondary to Bobby's goodness always seemed a strange point.

He admitted that "you can feel very full of yourself" when your show, DALLAS, goes through the roof may have been a confession that he himself thought his ego may have gotten out of control at one point.

But at least he's trying.

I've never seen the American version of Queer As Folk but I do own the British series boxset.

I must get myself a copy of the complete series off eBay. I hope it's as good as the original. :)

That’s understandable. the same job can get boring after so many years
Aww don't burst my bubble, my beloved Dallas stars couldn't possibly have got bored with their characters/jobs. It's been reported that the majority of the cast had some kind if issues over the years.

Only kidding, of course it's understandable, that's why it was a wonder some stayed so long.
I feel very blessed that they did though!

We're talking about the distorted news propounded by tabloids around the world. The only news then was that Perkins had slept with Victoria Principal ... and he was gay. But was married and the father of two children.

So, even these discussions about Patrick and Victoria seem at least partially false to me.
In recent days there has been talk of fake news.

They all are in awe of her, she does not need to attend functions and charge $50 for an autographed photo of a has been character from the 1980s. to remain in the spotlight, but to some people it is great that these people do this for the fans out there. Victoria does make statements comments as and when she deems fit, for example a co star birthday or the passing of someone. Yes Patrick and Victoria had amazing chemistry on set/camera, she went to work and got paid to do a job, that doesn't make her a nasty person for not socialising with the rest of the cast off set, she has openly said Jim Davies and BBG were close to her on set so there she was liked. Personally the band wagon of the three musketeers were slightly jealous of her success, as she does not need to pedal the Dallas band wagon, just saying!

Don´t waste time and go get it NOW. It´s a great ride from beginning to end, though I wanted to crash my TV set after watching the last episode...
