Okay so for our next round we're doing Biographies.

Biopic is a genre of movies that dramatizes the lives of real people. It is based on true stories and that depicts iconic people who are still alive or historical figures. Because the figures portrayed are actual people whose actions and characteristics are known to the public, biopic roles are considered some of the most demanding of actors and actresses.

Totals on: Sunday.

P.S. Oh and I will accept TV-movies and mini-series for this round as well! D.S.

Okay so here are the results of round 19. Apparently your favorite biography movie is:

elizabeth_taylor_cleopatra_movie_poster_2a.jpg
Cleopatra (1963)
This is the story about one of the last Queens of the Nile. Cleopatra lived in Alexandria in Egypt,
in the century before Christ was born. She was 18 years old when her father died and a power struggle for control over
the throne broke out between her and her younger brother Ptolemaios. Cleopatra began a love affair with the Roman Emperor Julius Caesar and with his support she could claim the throne as her own. After Caesar's death she fell in love with Mark Anthony with whom she began another love affair with and later married.

In the movie Cleopatra is portrayed by Elizabeth Taylor, Mark Anthony by Richard Burton and Caesar by Rex Harrison.
The movie is notorious since it almost bankrupted 20th Century Fox due to a number of delays and an inflating budget.
It took years to film it and they had to recast the male leads and move location after Elizabeth Taylor got seriously ill
while filming in England. Burton and Taylor also fell in love during the filming and this caused quite the scandal back in the 1960's.
The movie is a biography and an epic historical drama depicturing real events. It was directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz.

Okay so for round twenty it's time for another male star:
tom-hanks.jpg

Thomas Jeffrey Hanks is an American movie star, director, script writer and producer. He was born 9th July, 1956 in Concord, California, USA. He was the third of four siblings. He is of Portuguese and English descent. When he was 4 years old his parents divorced and he had to move around a lot. After graduating from High School he studied theater at college until he landed an internship at a theater festival. Then he dropped out of college and after three years at the festival he moved to New York City to pursue an acting career. He made his film debut in He Knows You’re Alone (1980). His career took off in the 1980s after he’d also made guest appearances on popular TV-shows. After he ventured into dramatic roles in the 1990s his career blossomed and Hanks went on to become one of the third highest grossing actors in Hollywood. He has grossed more than 9 billion dollars worldwide.

Tom Hanks has also won an Oscar two years in a row for the movies Philadelphia (1993) and Forrest Gump (1994). So that this actors is tremendously success is pretty obvious by now, but which one of his movies is your favorite?
