Is this picture they used as the publicity pic to announce Nicollette as Alexis actually taken on set? Is this an indication of how Alexis will look? Or is it just a pic of Nicollette from a few years ago? Is that actually the Carrington mansion set she's on?
And will nuAlexis finally get that Art Deco jewel box penthouse apartment with a huge Andy Warhol-esque portrait over her fireplace? Lots of silver and chrome and Art Deco everything?

She should "randomly" place a Knots Landing DVD on the coffee table. Maybe it catches on and then WB wants to jump on the bandwagon and release the rest of the show on DVD.

And she should watch it every now and then of course and we can hear the theme tune while she does, like the other Alexis did with "The Love Boat".
Or let her watch the famous cricket scene of Paige and Greg and she goes "wooooow!"

Variety credits this photo to The CW, so I would say - yes. That's her official still as Alexis Carrington taken on the set.
According to IMDb (not necessarily the most reliable source), she first appears in episode 18, thus will be featured in the final 5 episodes of the season.
But if she had already begun filming her scenes, she might appear a little earlier. Or could they be as far as episode 18 in the filming?
I guess they might be. Normally shows are filming episode 14 before Christmas, but they'd already done the pilot in March and I recall something about them starting production earlier than July (when most shows do).
In fact, according to SpoilerTV they have already wrapped production, but I can't see how that's possible:

There were not too many location shots and they don't necessarily have to film episode by episode. Maybe when they announced Sheridan, there were really just the "Alexis"-related scenes left to shoot. Because maybe they really weren't sure who to cast as "Alexis" until the last possible second 
If that's the case, they really could have wrapped it up already. But i'm sure there's still post production with voice recordings/corrections going on, so i don't think the actors are "out of their jobs" for this season yet.

It's really weird... I'm not exactly sure how Dynasty's production schedule works or how far ahead they film but I assumed that Nicollette Sheridan already started filming at this point. I even saw a picture of her, James Mackay (Steven) & Elizabeth Gillies (Fallon) on her instagram if I remember correctly. So who knows?
On Instagram today, the actor who plays Steven said he is on his way back to Atlanta to film Episode 15.

Thank you @Soapwriter12 !! At least this article finally made us stop guessing. I have always liked Pedowitz and I remember when he appeared as a witness during Nicollette's trial with Cherry and ABC Studios (formerly Touchstone Television) and he was very reasonable on the stand and spoke very kindly about both Sheridan and Cherry although he seemed to gravitate more towards her side. I'm very glad he gave her this opportunity. At least we'll have those 7 episodes. It's still good to see her more than once, she was truly missed.
I'm also very glad that he speaks out honestly and openly about the show's future and the problematic ratings. He clearly wants to see what they bring to the table during that last third of the season and if the audience grows or drops even more. Anyway, I'm not too optimistic about the second season. At least they gave it a shot and so did we.
